The Duo Prompt is the current authentication experience when an application is protected with Duo.
Authenticating from smaller screens
A user’s Duo Prompt may be formatted differently than expected. If a user is logging in from a smaller device (like a tablet) or a small browser window, the Duo Prompt may look slightly different than what they have seen in end-user documentation. They still have the same functionalities as other users with the same rights.
The first time a user accesses the Universal Prompt for a given application, Duo evaluates the supported authentication methods for that type of application and the effective authentication methods policy for that application, and then automatically selects the most secure authentication option available to the user according to this ordered preference:
Duo authentication methods from most to least secure
Touch ID
Security keys
Duo Mobile push approval
YubiKey passcodes
Duo Mobile generated passcodes
Hardware token passcodes
SMS passcodes
Phone call approval
If a user wants to try a different method than the one selected for them, clicking Other options in the Universal Prompt shows a list of the user's available authentication methods, subject to the effective authentication methods policy for that application.

Every Experience is Different
Duo protects just about everything, and the end-user experience will vary based upon the application that is being protected.
