When do Self Enrollment Links Expire? - Self enrollment links expire after a certain length of time as a security measure.
Under which conditions are enrollment emails sent to Directory Synced users? - Learn more about how Directory Sync affects enrollment emails sent to end-users.
Enrollment email experiences will vary based on the method used to manage end-users. If your organization uses Active Directory sync or Bulk Enrollment via the Admin Panel, users will receive an email that will prompt them to enroll themselves and their device to Duo when they are synced or added to the Admin Panel for the first time. Other methods such as creating a user manually or using CSV import will not automatically trigger enrollment emails to be sent to the end-user.
When an email is sent, the enrollment link in the email is valid for 30 days. If your organization uses Active Directory sync to manage end users, automatic reminder emails are sent when the user doesn’t enroll after the first email. Additional email reminders sent both two days and 10 days after the original email for these users.
You can manually resend activation links by clicking the Send Enrollment Email link from the top right-hand corner of the Users page or by navigating to Users > Pending Enrollments. Note that if you resend an enrollment email, that will not reset the enroll-by date.
All emails originate from no-reply@duosecurity.com, so be sure the address is whitelisted if your organization uses email filtering. End-users may also be cautious of phishing and may ask you to verify that the enrollment email they received is legitimate. You can always verify the email copy by checking the text as it appears on the Users > Bulk Enroll Users page in the Admin Panel.
